This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join an experienced digital agency. Gruden (www.gruden.com) has been around for 16+ years and has a great mix of well known brands which you would be working on.

We’re on the look out for a talented, creative-minded individual with a real passion for web design. Someone who has a great work ethic & the will to learn and sees their future in the digital design space.((It is anticipated (pending job performance) you will join the team on a more permanent basis (part time or full time).

Expectations & Responsibilities:

  • Exceptionally strong Adobe Photoshop & Flash CS4 skills
  • A good understanding of all things Adobe (CS4/CS5 Web or Design Suite)
  • Solid understanding of Web Design (How it differs from Print, Advertising etc.)
  • Basic CSS & HTML knowledge
  • Web video compression, exporting & production knowledge
  • Good understanding of web technologies and emerging Internet trends
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to function both as a member of a team and autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be self-motivated and have the drive to learn and update skills (both design & technical)

Duties

  • Support & maintenance for key clients - Disney Channel Australia being primary.
  • Updates typically would include;
    • Image production - Photoshop slicing & exporting for Web
    • Video production – compression, exporting & preparation for Web
    • Flash and graphics production - edits, updates & animation
  • Supporting our front end developers for template design & edits
  • Supporting our flash developers, local and overseas (China)
  • Carrying out localisation (file edits) of overseas content;
  • Internal marketing and print collateral updates

Advantageous

  • Tertiary or equivalent qualifications (eg.) University, COFA, TAFE, UTS, Enmore)
  • Adobe CS4/5 Dreamweaver knowledge
  • Basic – intermediate Print production skills (Adobe InDesign + press ready artwork)
  • ActionScript 2/3.0 hands-on experience

Senior Flash Developer



Gruden is a leading web agency working with some of Australia's largest companies. We're looking for a highly skilled enthusiastic team player with exceptional Flash/Flex skills to join our growing team.

Position Scope
Full Time position, contracting will also be considered.

Working closely on a number of Gruden’s key accounts (including Disney Channel & Walt Disney) you will help shape our overall interactive service offering alongside other senior staff members. You will be required to work both independently & within smaller development teams; consulting with our clients & on emerging technologies, acting as project lead on designated projects – effectively building a wide range of enterprise-level interactive applications.

To effectively scope, develop and implement technical solutions utilizing the latest technologies whilst adhering to the various industry standards. Working closely with the Development & Creative Directors, you will design, plan and manage various projects across a number of platforms and technologies.

You will liaise closely with both internal & external production teams to ensure that every project is both on time and has been through the proper quality assurance processes. This will ensure the solution is of exceptional quality, which is shown through your attention to detail and your ability to effectively communicate with other team members and clients.

Experience (all desirable, but not all necessary)
• Minimum 5 years industry experience in Internet and RIA development
• Experience working at traditional web development companies and/or web agencies
• Experience working ‘hands-on’ through all stages of a typical project lifecycle
• Adobe Flash/Flex and CFMX Developer certification is desirable
• Proven experience acting as a technical lead or managing and directing a small team of developers is advantageous
• University or tertiary qualifications is advantageous
• Papervision 3D and Augmented Reality knowledge or working experience is advantageous
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with an ability to effectively prioritise
• Technical writing and specification experience
• Experience in drafting cost estimates

Key Responsibilities
• Direct, manage and liaise with both internal and off-site development teams for successful project delivery
• Help shape and contribute to overall product vision and technical solutions during the pre-sales and scoping phases
• Work with other staff members and departments to set and maintain excellent service levels
• Act as primary Technical Lead on key client projects
• Clearly communicate effectively with a variety of people including; internal development teams, sales, creative, project management and clients at all levels
• Stay up to date in emerging technologies and new developments in the internet and related industries, specifically with regards to RIA technologies, Adobe interactive (Flash/Flex), streaming video and other significant web based technologies
• Be enthusiastic and passionate for the solutions being developed
• Continually provide effective, concise and thoroughly tested solutions and code

Skills
• Excellent Adobe Flash (CS4/AS2/AS3), Adobe Flex 2/3 skills with an understanding of OOP/OOD and related Design Patterns
• Knowledge of Cairngorm or similar Flex frameworks
• JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XML, XHTML, CSS and SOAP/REST
• Solid Flash and Flex remoting experience
• Subversion (SVN) control and procedures (revision control systems)
• Experience with streaming video platforms and related technologies
• A working knowledge of the following: Coldfusion 6+, SQL (MySQL and MS-SQL), ASP.Net and Java/JSP
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft IIS and Apache web servers
• Experience using Windows, Mac and Unix-based systems
• Game engine and platform technology skills desirable

C#/ASP.NET + Coldfusion Web Application Developer



Gruden is a leading web agency working with some of Australia's largest companies. We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic developer with strong skills in both C#/ASP.NET and Coldfusion to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity if you have outstanding technical skills, a strong appreciation of the web and a commitment to exceptional quality.

You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to respond quickly to daily changing business needs and timelines with good humour and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to clients, understand their requirements and provide technical input into solutions
  • Work with project managers, designers and other developers within Gruden to scope and design appropriate solutions
  • Liaise with technical partners such as hosting providers and API developers to ensure smooth rollout and integration of projects
  • Own the technical scope of projects and ensure that other developers in our Sydney and Qingdao offices understand it clearly
  • Develop high quality code
  • Ensure that technical quality of all your projects is top notch and that all code written by all staff members is performant & bug free

Required Skills

  • 5 years experience in web development
  • Strong written & verbal communications skills
  • Willingness to supervise other developers, helping them understand the brief and conducting code reviews of their work.
  • Primarily focused on .NET 3.5 and Coldfusion 7-9
  • Microsoft server and database platforms
  • Unix server and MySQL database platforms
  • Web standards & best practices including HTML, CSS and WCAG

Preferred Skills
